Carles's favorite part of the summer

My favorite part of the internship has been animal programs. It’s not every day that people get to touch a hissing cockroach or a snake, or better yet an alligator and so on. To see them multiple emotions from guests after approaching these animals are to die for. You can see a range of fear, to disgust to even victory. Animal programs are the best because it’s much more than hands on interaction, it’s like animal bonding. As an intern we’re given the opportunity to become comfortable with a variety of animals and conquer fears we once held. We’re given the chance to explain to guests the importance of these animals and how they help the environment. While educating, we’re having fun and that’s the most important thing of it all.
