April Training Class: Group A & B
I'm a bit behind on my blogs, I apologize.
April was our last class for the training portion of the High School Intern Program. During April's class we reviewed cover letter and resume skills, practiced interviewing, ate at Andolini's Pizza and went crabbing on the old Pitt Street Bridge in Mt. Pleasant.
Group A caught several hermit crabs, but only one blue crab. It was a beautiful windy day, but still a bit early in the season for blue crabs.
Group B didn't catch as many hermit crabs, but caught several blue crabs. The water had warmed up a bit and the blue crabs were plentiful.
Both classes had a great time in the Salt Marsh looking for birds, trying to catch crabs (catch and release, of course) and hanging out getting to know each other better. The day went quick...it always does!
Next, the interns will be coming in for interviews. The interviews as well as their progress through the classes will determine which 10 will be staying on as summer paid interns!
