How Lexi feels about husbandry...

Husbandry duties are the best because you really get a chance to have close encounters with the animals and interact with them, especially with the bird rounds. Feeding the birds is so much fun and also really messing (almost as messy when cleaning alligator bins), but the good outweighs the bad.

Probably one of the most interesting and, in my opinion, cutest, is sunning the sea turtles. I learned that the Vitamin D from the sun helps the sea turtles’ shells grow, so it’s really important for them. It’s one of the calmer husbandry duties, but getting to handle the sea turtles is an amazing experience.
